With its training program, German College of Footwear Design and Technology (DSF) is unique in Germany and is one of the most traditional shoe schools in the world.

It prepares specialists with practical experience in the footwear industry or trade for a professionally competent, independent job in technical management and footwear design.

With modern equipment and a qualified team of lecturers, the DSF offers students an internationally recognized education. Working in small groups and the predominantly project-oriented lessons promote the participants’ methodological skills and ability to work in a team.

The school’s traditional links with the footwear industry enable interesting study trips, company visits, study projects and competitions. This guarantees practical and industry-oriented training.

During the two-year training course, the focus is on shoe design and construction, collection design, production technology, work system and process design. Materials technology, quality management and the use of information technology also play an important role. In order to make it easier for graduates to work internationally later on, English is taught as a foreign language in an additional subject throughout the entire training period. The language of instruction in the other subjects is German.

The German College of Footwear Design and Technology has a team of full-time teaching staff and part-time lecturers who, together with around 30 students, create an informal educational atmosphere.
