  • Training as a shoe manufacturer, shoemaker, orthopaedic shoemaker, leather processing specialist and professional experience (at least 12 months) (see FAQ)
  • Commercial training in a shoe company and professional experience in shoe manufacturing (see FAQ)
  • Professional experience in shoe manufacturing (at least 5 years)
  • Other vocational training (see FAQ)
  • Professional experience in shoe manufacturing (at least 12 – 24 months)
  • The following also applies to foreign applicants:
    Non-EU members must apply for a residence permit (visa) once they have been admitted to the technical college.

The course lasts two years (2680 hours) and can be completed full-time. Training begins at the start of the school year after the summer vacation in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Attending the German Shoe School is free of charge. The costs for learning materials, training documents and other materials as well as an external examination amount to approx. 1200 €. The costs of the study trips offered are borne by the participants. The DSF is happy to assist in arranging accommodation.
