The two-year course at the German Shoe College leads to the title “State-certified Shoe Technician” or “Bachelor professional” after successful completion of all learning modules.
Graduates have a wide range of career opportunities in the shoe and supplier industry as well as in the fashion industry. You can choose between operational, modeling and design activities.
Operations technicians work as production planners, controllers or assistant plant managers/technical plant managers. They contact suppliers (e.g. leather manufacturers) and manage production tasks in manufacturing, both in shaft construction and in floor assembly. Their tasks also include work preparation, production planning and, in particular, the optimization of production processes.
The field of activity of the technical modeler (shoe designer) includes the complete design from the creation of prototypes to their implementation in series production, today mostly using CAD.
Shoe designers are mainly involved in the design of new shoes and the development of shoe collections. These activities require a talent for drawing and a high level of creativity.
The broad-based further training makes it possible to work successfully in all areas of the footwear industry.
